As all of our work is out on the ice of the Sørsdal glacier we are pretty resource heavy overall! One of the safety measures before we can work at a site is a low light recce. The low light provides better surface definition for the field training officers and the helicopter pilots to identify hazards and safe sites for us to land and work. It being December in the southern hemisphere this couldn’t begin until after 8 pm with obvious knock on effects to the next days aviation! Sorry to those that had to walk to their sites the next day but the view was stunning!
